Cloisonne Ginger Jar

These lovely Lidded Ginger Jars are hand-crafted in China. Cloisonne is a unique art form that originated in China during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). Bronze or brass filigree is created then enamels of various colors and qualities are inlaid into the filigree and heated to 800 degrees. The enamels will melt within the filigree lattice work and bond with the bronze, for this unique effect.
